Navistar's Engine Group Quality department in Huntsville, AL was using a series of home-grown Excel spreadsheets to collect and review various metrics of quality for the manufacturing of engines. The lack of scalability caused problems for the Quality team when making changes to the Excel spreadsheets and distributing them to their plants in the United States and internationally. Collecting/scrubbing the data was even more of a challenge and consumed most of their time.
McRae Technologies, LLC built a custom web appplication to replace their Excel spreadsheets. The enforcement of data- validation along with the real-time review/reporting of the data collection freed up a lot of time for them to actually analyze the data and make suggestions to improve the quality of their manufacturing processes.
